Does Intent Data Improve Architect Prospecting Timing? New Research | InfoGlobalData

"Who could buy from us?"

to:

"Which qualified firms appear to have a reason to evaluate our solution now?"

A practical data model can include:

Data layer

Example signals

Firmographic

Firm size, location, specialization

Contact

Principal, partner, architect, specification, technology or operations role

Project

New project, RFP, expansion, major contract

Digital

Website visits, content engagement, topic research

Technology

AI adoption, software evaluation, technology initiatives

Organizational

Hiring, leadership changes, expansion

Timing

Recency and frequency of activity

Qualification

ICP fit, territory, service relevance

The recency field is particularly important.

A research signal from six months ago should not necessarily receive the same priority as repeated activity during the past two weeks.

Does Intent Data Mean Sales Should Contact Prospects Immediately?

Not necessarily.

Intent data improves timing only when sales teams interpret the signal correctly.

Consider three hypothetical architect accounts:

Account A: Fits the ICP but shows no recent activity.

Account B: Fits the ICP and has visited several relevant resources once.

Account C: Fits the ICP, has shown repeated engagement, recently expanded its team, and is associated with a new project announcement.

All three may belong in an Architect Email List, but they should not necessarily receive the same outreach sequence at the same time.

Account A may belong in long-term nurture.

Account B may warrant educational content or light-touch outreach.

Account C may justify more direct sales engagement.

The objective is therefore not simply to send emails faster. It is to allocate sales attention according to evidence of relevance and timing.

Architecture AI Adoption Makes Intent-Based Segmentation More Relevant

Architects' own adoption of AI illustrates why behavioral segmentation is becoming increasingly useful.

RIBA's 2026 AI research found that 74% of architecture practices were using AI on at least some projects, up from 59% in 2025. The research also found that 75% of respondents reported improved productivity and 57% reported a positive return on investment from AI.

A separate 2026 global survey by Chaos and Architizer of nearly 800 architects and designers found that 64% had experimented with AI tools, but only 20% said they had fully embraced AI within their workflows.

The figures differ partly because the studies use different populations, geographies, and definitions of adoption. That difference itself is useful: "uses AI" is not a sufficiently precise intent category.
