What is the Process for Saber Certification in Saudi Arabia?
A SABER Certificate is an official conformity certificate issued through Saudi Arabia's SABER platform. It verifies that regulated products comply with applicable Saudi technical regulations before they are imported into the Kingdom. The SABER system was introduced by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) to modernize product compliance, improve consumer safety, and simplify the import process through a fully digital platform.
The PCoC:
- Covers a specific product
- Is generally valid for one year
- Allows multiple shipments of the approved product during its validity period
Importers should monitor the certificate's expiration date to ensure continuous compliance.
Step 7: Apply for the Shipment Certificate of Conformity (SCoC)
Before each shipment is exported to Saudi Arabia, the importer must apply for a Shipment Certificate of Conformity.
The SCoC confirms that the shipment matches the previously approved product registration.
Unlike the Product Certificate, a new Shipment Certificate is required for every shipment.
