Travel Agent Prospecting Myths: What B2B Marketers Get Wrong About Contact Data | InfoGlobalData

Travel Agent Prospecting Myths: What B2B Marketers Get Wrong About Contact Data | InfoGlobalData

Myth 6: A Larger Travel Agents Email List Automatically Produces Better Results

Database size is easy to measure. Prospect relevance is harder—and often more useful.

Salesforce's 2026 State of Sales research surveyed 4,050 sales professionals and found that 55% were using AI for prospecting, while another 38% planned to do so. At the same time, 51% of sales leaders using AI said disconnected systems were slowing their initiatives, and 74% of sales professionals were focusing on data cleansing.

This has a direct implication for travel-advisor prospecting.

AI-assisted prospecting can process thousands of contacts, but it still needs reliable context. If an AI system receives only:

Name + "Travel Agent" + Email

it has limited information with which to determine relevance.

A richer record could include:

Advisor + Agency + Host Affiliation + Specialization + Location + Seniority + Agency Size + Technology Signals

The second record gives sales automation substantially more context for prioritization and personalization.

Myth 7: Personalization Means Simply Adding the Advisor's Name

Personalization based only on first name, agency name, or location is becoming increasingly superficial.
