Building a Secure Email Environment

A professional organization can follow a simple process.

Step 1: Define the requirement

Decide whether you need another user, alias, shared inbox, or project address.

Step 2: Select an appropriate provider

Compare security, administration, storage, collaboration, and support.

Step 3: Establish domain ownership

Step 4: Create accounts directly

Provision users through the organization's managed email environment.

Step 5: Configure security

Enable strong authentication and appropriate recovery controls.

Step 6: Document everything

Maintain an internal record of active users and email addresses.
