Snaptroid Review: A Practical Look at the Snapchat Story Viewer and Downloader

Fake copies of popular apps are common, and downloading the wrong version from an unknown website can introduce risks that have nothing to do with the original software.

It is also sensible to check permissions before installing any third-party app. A story viewer should not need access to things that have nothing to do with viewing or saving media.

Snaptroid vs Snapchat

Snaptroid and Snapchat are not really trying to do the same job.

Snapchat is a full social platform.

It includes messaging, calling, camera tools, filters, friends, Stories, Spotlight, subscriptions, and several other social features.

Snaptroid is much more focused.

Its main purpose is viewing public stories and saving media.

If your main goal is messaging friends, posting your own content, or using Snapchat's social features, the official Snapchat app makes far more sense.

If your goal is simply to check public stories or save publicly available media without signing into Snapchat, a tool like Snaptroid serves a different purpose.

That is also why comparing the two as if they are direct competitors can be misleading.
