Snaptroid Review: A Practical Look at the Snapchat Story Viewer and Downloader

Downloaded photos and videos can be managed from within the app, making it easier to keep saved content organized. The platform also supports media sharing and some light editing features such as trimming and cropping.

Another useful feature is quality control.

Where the source allows it, Snaptroid tries to preserve the original quality of the media being saved. That matters if you are downloading a video that you want to watch later instead of ending up with a heavily compressed copy.

The app itself is also fairly small, with the site listing it at around 10MB. That makes it more suitable for users who do not want another large application taking up unnecessary storage.

Using Snaptroid on Different Devices

Android is clearly the main platform for Snaptroid.

The Android version is installed as an APK, which means it is downloaded outside the Google Play Store. Users need to allow installation from an external source before installing it.

There are also separate guides for users interested in Snaptroid for iOS and those who want to run Snaptroid on a PC.

The experience is not exactly the same across every device. Android is the native environment, while PC usage generally involves running the application through an emulator.

That is worth keeping in mind before downloading anything. If you mainly plan to use Snaptroid on a computer, you may need a little more setup compared with using it directly on an Android phone.

The Privacy Side of Snaptroid

Privacy is one of the biggest themes around tools like Snaptroid.
