Piles Treatment in Hyderabad: Diagnosis, Treatment Options and Laser Surgery

Piles Treatment in Hyderabad: Diagnosis, Treatment Options and Laser Surgery

·         Drinking sufficient water.

·         Avoiding prolonged sitting on the toilet.

·         Avoiding excessive straining during bowel movements.

·         Staying physically active.

·         Taking warm sitz baths to help relieve discomfort.

Fibre supplements may also be recommended when dietary intake is insufficient.

2. Medication

Doctors may prescribe ointments, creams, suppositories or oral medicines to manage symptoms. Depending on the patient's condition, these may contain soothing agents or medicines that help reduce inflammation and discomfort.

Medication generally helps control symptoms; it may not eliminate larger or prolapsing haemorrhoids.

3. Non-Surgical Procedures

When lifestyle measures and medication are insufficient, certain outpatient procedures may be considered.

·         Rubber band ligation: A small elastic band is placed around the base of an internal haemorrhoid to cut off its blood supply, causing it to shrink and eventually fall off.

·         Injection sclerotherapy: A solution is injected into the haemorrhoidal tissue to cause scarring and shrinkage. It may be used for selected internal haemorrhoids.

·         Infrared coagulation: Infrared energy creates scar tissue that reduces the blood supply to the haemorrhoid.

·         Electrocoagulation: Electrical energy is used to produce tissue changes that reduce the haemorrhoid's blood supply.

The choice of procedure depends on the type and grade of haemorrhoids and the patient's clinical assessment.

Piles Laser Surgery: How Does It Work?

Laser procedures are among the treatment options for selected patients with symptomatic haemorrhoids. The technique used depends on the haemorrhoid's size, location and degree of prolapse.

Some commonly described laser techniques include:

·         Haemorrhoidal Laser Procedure (HeLP): Laser energy is used to close terminal branches of the superior rectal artery supplying the haemorrhoidal tissue.

·         HeLP with Mucopexy (HeLPexx): This combines the laser technique with mucopexy, which helps address associated mucosal prolapse.

·         Laser Haemorrhoidoplasty (LHP): Laser energy is delivered into the haemorrhoidal tissue to reduce its size.

Laser procedures are minimally invasive techniques in selected cases. The recovery period and possibility of complications vary according to the procedure and the patient's condition. Laser treatment is not suitable for every grade or type of piles, so a specialist assessment is important before deciding on surgery.
