Men's Extra Wide Golf Shoes: How to Find the Right Fit
Best Width for Men's Golf Shoes
If standard golf shoes feel tight, a 2E model may be enough. If 2E shoes still squeeze your feet, 4E golf shoes are worth considering.
Some current golf footwear options are specifically available in 4E. New Balance, for example, offers men's golf shoes in both wide and extra-wide widths, and recent golfer discussions frequently recommend the brand for genuinely wide feet.
If even 4E shoes feel restrictive, look for specialty brands offering wider constructions rather than simply buying a longer shoe.
Look for a Wide Toe Box
Overall width and toe-box width aren't exactly the same.
A shoe may technically be extra wide but still taper toward the toes. If you have a broad forefoot, look for a golf shoe with a naturally spacious toe box.
This is especially useful if you have:
- Wide forefeet
- Bunions
- Hammertoes
- Swollen feet
- High-volume feet
Some golfers with very wide feet report that even shoes labeled 4E can differ considerably in actual toe-box space, making the shape of the shoe just as important as the width designation.
