How to Add Tokenized Real-World Assets to a Crypto Exchange Trading Platform

How to Add Tokenized Real-World Assets to a Crypto Exchange Trading Platform

4. Connect Asset Data and Valuation Oracles

A major difference between crypto assets and RWAs is the dependency on off-chain information.

A tokenized gold product needs information about the underlying commodity. A real-estate token requires property valuation and ownership records. Private credit requires information about loans, repayments, and underlying collateral.

The exchange therefore needs reliable oracle and data integrations for:

  • Asset valuation
  • NAV updates
  • Interest or dividend calculations
  • Collateral information
  • Corporate actions
  • Redemption events
  • Reserve or custody verification

The objective is to ensure that the token's on-chain state remains synchronized with the asset it represents.

5. Add an RWA-Compatible Trading Engine

The trading engine should support conventional exchange functionality—order books, market orders, limit orders, matching, settlement, fees, and market-maker connectivity—but with additional controls.

For example, an RWA trading pair may require:

  • Whitelisted wallets
  • Transfer restrictions
  • Trading-hour limitations
  • Investor eligibility checks
  • Minimum holding periods
  • Circuit breakers
  • Asset-specific settlement rules

Liquidity also deserves special attention. Tokenized assets can have much thinner markets than major cryptocurrencies. Market makers, liquidity incentives, OTC connectivity, and carefully designed listing requirements can help reduce excessive spreads.

6. Design Custody and Settlement Around RWAs

How data archiving changes when you move from ECC to S/4HANA

Data archiving in S/4HANA operates fundamentally differently from SAP ECC, driven by the shift to an in-memory database, simplified data models, and new table structures such as the Universal Journal. Organisations migrating to S/4HANA must adapt their archiving strategies to control costs and maintain performance effectively. Read now to know more.
