Can a previously suspended account be made safe?

There is no universal answer. The underlying reason for a suspension determines the appropriate response, and some issues require direct investigation by Microsoft Advertising support.

Do not assume that transferring an account, changing its name, or replacing its login credentials will resolve a previous violation. Nor should you rely on a seller's claim that an account has a special status that makes normal review requirements irrelevant.

If the account has an unresolved suspension, obtain clarification through official support before relying on it for a time-sensitive campaign.

7. Check Website, Tracking, and Campaign Asset Ownership

An advertising account can contain valuable business assets beyond its login credentials. These may include campaign structures, advertisements, keyword research, conversion goals, audience resources, tracking tags, and reporting history.

However, access to an account does not automatically establish ownership of every website, data set, or external system connected to it.

Website and domain control

Confirm that the business you represent controls the website being advertised. Check that the domain is valid, the landing pages work, and the advertised products or services match the actual business.

If a seller's account contains campaigns pointing to a domain that the buyer does not control, the campaigns may be unusable even if the account itself remains accessible.

Conversion tracking

Microsoft Advertising supports Universal Event Tracking (UET) for measuring website activity and supporting conversion-related features. Before a handover, determine which website and tracking implementation the account uses.

Ask:

Is the UET tag installed on a website the business controls?

Are conversion goals configured correctly?

Are the relevant analytics and consent arrangements still valid?

Does the account share tracking resources with other businesses?

Can the new operator maintain the implementation without relying on the former owner?

Do not assume that all shared assets should be transferred automatically. Some may support campaigns belonging to other customers, and changing them without a plan can disrupt measurement.

Microsoft's account-transfer documentation explains that some campaign resources and tracking-related assets can be included in a supported transfer, but dependencies must be considered.
