Bispecific Antibody Market Advances as 180+ Companies Accelerate Clinical Development
The bispecific antibody market is gaining momentum as pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies explore innovative treatments for cancer, autoimmune conditions, and other complex diseases. Unlike conventional monoclonal antibodies, bispecific antibodies can bind two distinct antigens simultaneously, enabling targeted therapeutic mechanisms and potentially improving treatment outcomes. Growing clinical research, advancements in antibody engineering, and increasing regulatory approvals are further supporting the development of these therapies.

Understanding Bispecific Antibodies and Their Applications
Bispecific antibodies are engineered molecules capable of binding two different antigens or epitopes. In oncology, certain candidates bind CD3 on T cells and a tumor-associated antigen, such as CD19, CD20, CD33, CD123, HER2, EpCAM, BCMA, or CEA. This interaction brings immune cells into proximity with cancer cells, helping activate immune responses against malignant cells.
Their applications extend beyond oncology. Emicizumab, also known as ACE910, bridges coagulation factors IXa and X to support blood coagulation in people with hemophilia A. Other candidates are being investigated for osteoporosis, neurological disorders, and inflammatory diseases.
In autoimmune conditions, bispecific antibodies may simultaneously inhibit two inflammatory targets. ABT122, which targets TNF-alpha and IL-17A, has demonstrated clinical activity in rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis. Conversely, COVA322, another candidate targeting these pathways, was discontinued during early clinical development because of safety concerns. ABT981, which targets IL-1 alpha and IL-1 beta, has been investigated for osteoarthritis.
Potential advantages include improved target specificity, immune-cell recruitment, simultaneous inhibition of disease-related pathways, and reduced reliance on combinations of separate antibody therapies. However, clinical benefits depend on the specific molecule, indication, safety profile, and supporting trial evidence.
Approved Bispecific Antibody Drugs
- Amivantamab: Janssen
Amivantamab is a fully human bispecific antibody targeting EGFR and MET, proteins involved in cancer growth and progression. Developed through a collaboration involving Genmab and Janssen, it uses Genmab’s DuoBody technology platform. In 2021, the US FDA approved amivantamab-vmjw, marketed as RYBREVANT, for adults with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with EGFR exon 20 insertion mutations whose disease had progressed during or after platinum-based chemotherapy.
- Blinatumomab: Amgen
Blinatumomab, also known as AMG 103, is a bispecific T-cell engager that binds CD3 on T cells and CD19 on B-lineage cells. This mechanism promotes immune-mediated destruction of targeted malignant cells. It has received regulatory approval for specified forms of B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia, with additional research exploring its potential in other hematological malignancies.

Collagen Low Dalton: What Molecular Weight Means for Collagen Peptides
Collagen supplements have moved from niche shelf to everyday routine, and the labels have become more technical along the way. Alongside "hydrolysed" and "peptides", many products now quote a figure in Daltons. If you have come across the phrase collagen low Dalton and wondered whether it is useful information or just marketing, this guide explains what the number measures, what research says about absorption and skin, and where the evidence is still thin.
