It was a pleasant and easy flight out of the Turkish Airlines EWR Terminal. I was pleased by Terminal B's welcoming staff, quick check-in, and obvious signs when I arrived early. The station has excellent amenities like free Wi-Fi and cozy sitting, and security processed passengers swiftly. Everything about the boarding process felt professional and well-organized. I would definitely fly from the Turkish Airlines EWR Terminal again because it offered a stress-free beginning to my foreign journey.
Turkish Airlines arrival at EWR Terminal B
Turkish Airlines is based at Newark Liberty International Airport's Terminal B. I definitely suggest it, as I arrived around three hours before my scheduled departure time. The main international terminal, Terminal B, can grow busy during peak hours because it serves a range of foreign carriers. I was directed to the Turkish Airlines check-in booths at the EWR Terminal by obvious signs when I arrived. There were distinct queues for Economy, Business Class, and Star Alliance Elite members, and the space was well demarcated. The line for Economy passengers proceeded steadily despite its considerable length. After a lengthy Uber ride through Jersey traffic, I truly appreciated the airline staff's professionalism, courtesy, and helpfulness.
Arrival and Baggage
The Turkish Airlines EWR Terminal check-in procedure was simple. I just needed to drop off my checked bag because I had previously checked in online. Compared to other carriers, Turkish carriers offers a large allowance of two checked baggage in Economy class, each weighing up to 23 kg (50 lbs). With a smile, the counter staff gave me a printed boarding pass after verifying my preferred seat. I observed that passengers with special needs and those flying with children received extra attention, which sped up the processing time.
Pre-boarding and security
I went to the security checkpoint after checking in. TSA Pre Check lanes and regular TSA queues are available at Terminal B. Fortunately, the wait was short. I was airside in fifteen minutes with plenty of time before boarding thanks to the effective security personnel.
Exploring the EWR Terminal for Turkish Airlines
I got a few hours to explore the Turkish Airlines EWR Terminal area after passing through security. Despite not being brand-new, Terminal B is tidy, operational, and has recently undergone improvements. This is what I enjoyed:
Wi-Fi: For streaming or checking emails, the complimentary Wi-Fi was dependable and quick.
Charging stations: I didn't have to compete for a spot to charge my phone because there were many outlets close to the seating areas.
Food alternatives: There were a variety of affordable dining options, including Starbucks, neighborhood sandwich shops, and Asian cuisine.
Duty-Free: I looked around in the duty-free store by the entrance. They provided a decent assortment of travel goods, alcohol, and perfumes.
Lounge Access (Star Alliance Gold and Business Class)
I previously had lounge access when traveling in Turkish Airlines' Business Class, but this time I was traveling in Economy. The Turkish Airlines Lounge in Terminal B offers peaceful seating, good cuisine, and beverages in a welcoming and friendly setting. Depending on availability and the time of day, entrance to additional partner lounges such as SAS or Lufthansa is also available.
Experience of Boarding
The boarding procedure was orderly and seamless. Business Class and priority groups were the first to board on schedule after Turkish Airlines employees made explicit statements. I enjoyed the methodical and orderly procedure; there was no frantic rush or confusion at the gate. After the gate agents quickly checked passports, I was boarding the plane via the jet bridge in a matter of minutes.
Conclusion
I had a great overall experience at the Turkish Airlines EWR Terminal. I was quite satisfied with Terminal B, and Turkish Airlines in particular, even though Newark Airport is frequently criticized for its delays and lack of organization. The boarding procedure was among the most effective I've ever seen, the check-in procedure went well, the personnel was kind, and the terminal amenities were adequate. Naturally, there is space for development, just like at any airport terminal. The food court becomes congested during busy times, and several of the seating spaces may use some updating. However, Turkish Airlines and EWR's Terminal B offered a far more enjoyable beginning to my trip than I had anticipated when compared to many other international departure locations I've utilized. Would I take another Turkish Airlines flight from EWR? Of course. The travel felt easy because of the airline's excellent service and a pleasant terminal experience. Don't be afraid to take a Turkish Airlines flight out of the Turkish Airlines EWR Terminal if you're planning an overseas trip; if you allow yourself a little extra time, you'll probably appreciate the experience as much as I did.
