3 Useful Tips You Didn’t Know About Skin Health

Unlock a glowing complexion by discovering the unconventional lifestyle habits and overlooked internal factors that influence your skin more than expensive serums. Have a look at ways to look after your skin today.

When it comes to breakouts, fine lines, or dryness on your skin, there are likely many things you're doing wrong that you're unaware of. Don’t get me wrong, all of these points are new to me, and I thought they were so good I had to share them with other people in hopes of helping someone’s skin health in the slightest.

Simple lifestyle changes can completely change someone's skin and life as a whole, so it means a lot to get this useful information from working professionals in the industry and share it with others who have problems within that area.

Nighttime Routine

I thought this was pretty interesting, and it’s something I have been guilty of doing in the past, but did you know that you are supposed to brush your teeth before you begin washing your hands? If done the other way round, you will have remnants of bacteria around your mouth.

It sounds so crazy to be like, I can't believe I didn't think about this, and you feel silly not knowing it already. However, this changed my life, as I was having breakouts around my mouth and chin. At first, I thought it was hormonal, but they persisted throughout the whole month rather than the lead-up to my period.

Once I changed my routine order to this, my spots cleared, and they are very few and far between. It shows that no matter what products you use, if your routine is off, then it can create so much stress for you and your skin.

Gut Health

You are probably sick of this trigger word ‘gut health,’ but like abs are made in the kitchen, so is your skin health, and I don’t mean the basic statements. Greasy food can lead to breakouts and stuff, but there some so many foods and hacks that can be used to your benefit.

For example, it could include having more carrots in your diet to help with collagen, fermented foods to heal your gut, whole foods for long-term health and so forth. Having a balanced diet made from whole foods is the key to health, in order for it to reflect on the outside.

It’s also common for many skin health issues to be related to food, such as eczema, which is linked to an imbalanced gut microbiome, so healing your gut is the first step.

Blue Light From Screens Can Damage Your Skin

Just like UV rays from the sun, High-Energy Visible (HEV) light, or blue light, emitted from our digital devices (phones, laptops, and tablets) can penetrate the skin and contribute to premature ageing, hyperpigmentation, and collagen breakdown. While the research is still evolving, consider using blue light filters on your devices and incorporating skincare products with antioxidants that combat free radical damage.

While there are ways to reverse and combat the damage you have already done to your skin with visits to aesthetics in Cheshire (the clinic I attend), as they specialise in non-surgical medical-grade facials, which is where I learnt all the information I know today about skin. Either way, there are technologies now that can completely transform, heal and fix your skin issues.
